Davy Jones is a fictional character from the Pirates of the Caribbean film series. He is portrayed as the captain of the ghost ship, the Flying Dutchman, and serves as a primary antagonist.
Originally a skilled sailor, Jones fell in love with the sea goddess Calypso. She tasked him with ferrying souls lost at sea to the afterlife. In return, he was granted immortality, with the condition that he could only set foot on land once every ten years.
